Nikki Davis-Green, president of N.C. Central’s Charlotte alumni chapter, is doing whatever it takes to encourage her son, Darren, to choose her alma mater.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, she shared a picture of a pair of Nike Dunks —   maroon and grey to match the schools colors — with a caption that read, “Hey, Oscar Joyner, it’s college application time and I’m not above bribes.”

Darren, a Hickory Ridge High School senior, has yet to make a college decision and has family members pushing for their respective schools.

Oscar Joyner, Darren’s godfather, graduated from FAMU, and he has an uncle who graduated from N.C. A&T.

Davis-Green said she has one more tactic up her sleeve.

“I’m taking him to homecoming,” she said. “Pulling out all the stop.”
