Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library kicks off library card sign-up month

September is nationally recognized as Library Card Sign-Up Month, a time when libraries encourage local residents to get library cards. 

If you’re a Mecklenburg resident, you can get a free digital or physical library card for free when you fill out an application on this website or visit any Charlotte Mecklenburg Library branch.

Those living outside the county can purchase one for $45 a year. 

Pew research study found that Black Americans are more likely to use library resources, such as internet access and computer usage.
