Last weekend, the City of Charlotte announced Saturday will become a paid parking day in Uptown Charlotte and South End.
The change will take effect beginning March 25.
The news comes after the first phase of an ongoing study assessing Charlotte’s parking and curb lane system is ending.

Paid parking on Saturday was paused last summer due to the need to investigate the system further.
“The assessment shows that Saturday system management will allow for parking turnover providing the public better access to the Uptown and South End businesses and venues during this high-demand day,” the city said.
“Parking signage will be updated to reflect the addition of Saturday as a paid parking day.”
