Humane Society of Charlotte Joins NBCUniversal Clear the Shelters™ Campaign

Posted on: August 26, 2021

NBCUniversal’s local Clear the Shelters™ pet adoption campaign is back and the Humane Society of Charlotte (HSC) has joined in to help as many animals as possible find their new loving family this August and September. Clear the Shelters™ has been active for seven consecutive years nationwide and since that time, the adoption campaign has helped more than half a million pets find new homes.  Here in Charlotte, HSC works daily to serve the citizens and pets of Charlotte and beyond and is on target to help 3,000 animals find new, loving homes this year.

This year’s Clear the Shelters™ campaign will again feature online donations benefiting HSC through NBCUniversal’s fundraising partner Greater Good Charities. HSC encourages everyone to donate to support our life-saving work by visiting the official donation site, which is also accessible on our Adoption page.

The Humane Society of Charlotte wants to extend a special thank you to Hill’s Pet Nutrition, the national sponsor for the Clear the Shelters™ campaign this year. Hill’s will collaborate with the Humane Society of Charlotte at the Charlotte Knights game on Thursday, September 16, and will match every donation up to $50,000 made through the HSC Clear the Shelters™ donation link.

Clear The Shelters™ Adoption Promotions at HSC will include:

$50 off adoption fees for select adult dogs

BOGO $50 off adoption fees for kittens

Fee-waived adoptions for adult cats

Adoptions at HSC are currently available by appointment. To request an appointment to meet our animals, interested adopters can visit humanecharlotte.org/adoption. All adopters must be 18 or older and have a valid form of identification upon arrival. Interested adopters can also schedule a general appointment to discuss what kind of companion they’re looking for with HSC’s Adoption Specialists. Fundraising totals and the number of pets adopted from HSC will be announced by local NBC affiliate WCNC after the conclusion of Clear The Shelters™.
