NCCU appoints Catherine Edmonds as new chief of staff

North Carolina Central University has named Catherine Edmonds, a veteran educator, as the school’s next chief of staff. She will begin her new role on May 1.

Edmonds’ job will be to “advise, support, coordinate and collaborate on initiatives for NCCU’s Chancellor Dr. Johnson O. Akinleye,” the school said in a statement on Monday.

In addition to serving on NCCU’s executive leadership team, she also will plan and direct all administrative, financial and operational activities for chancellor’s office, according to the announcement.
