On the move: Jordan Harris joins University City Partners

Jordan Harris has joined University City Partners as director of community development and outreach, a new role created to “improve the quality of life across University City,” the organization said in a statement.

Harris previously served as an associate director of community relations at UNC Charlotte.

In her new job, Harris also will work with the University City Foundation to broaden its impact.

University City Partners is an economic development organization that uses a special property tax assessment to improve services within the University City municipal service district.

Tobe Holmes, the organization’s interim executive director, called Harris “a perfect fit” for the organization.

“She will help to deliver on our efforts of investing resources to shape our public spaces in a way that meets the expectations of our diverse community,” he said. “Some of these initiatives include our events and programs.”

Harris, who sits on the boards of Share Charlotte and the McCrorey YMCA, said she was excited to join University City Partners.

“With the rapid growth and development happening in University City, a lot of my role will take into consideration how the organization shows up as an engaged partner, convener and influencer,” she said. “Upholding University City Partner’s value of making positive, lasting changes is a huge part of that.”
