Police investigate death in northeast Charlotte


Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating an incident in northeast Charlotte that left a man dead early Saturday. 

The incident was reported shortly after 2:45 a.m. in the 100 block of Atando Avenue, near the intersection with N. Tryon Street,  in CMPD’s North Tryon Division.

When officers got there, they found a “male victim” with traumatic injuries, the department said in a media report. Medic took the victim to Atrium Main with life-threatening injuries. Hospital staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.

The CMPD report did not include the victim’s name or say what killed him.
