What’s Happening, Charlotte: Check out 17 ways to spend your weekend

Happy Friday Eve, QCity!

The weekend is so close I can almost smell it — is what I would say if not for all the pollen riling up my allergies.

Despite the sneezing and puffy eyes, I’m still looking forward to checking out the Seltzerland Festival.

Other things to do this weekend could include visiting a new exhibition at the Harvey B. Gantt Center, catching a fashion show, attending a Spring Fling Festival and lots more.

Sylvester has showcased his work in exhibitions across the globe, but never in the United States.

On Thursday, he will finally get his chance at the Gantt Center.

When hip-hop, comedy and improv mix

Before Hamilton, before In the Heights, there was Freestyle Love Supreme. Now, more than 15 years after its inception, the original hip-hop musical phenomenon from Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Anthony Veneziale is coming to Charlotte May 24-29 in Knight Theater.

Every performance brings the unexpected, as the crew takes the crowd on a freestyle, hip-hop, improvisational comedy ride. See it for the first time each time – no two shows are the same!
